All change for Lloyd

With new faces and new names to remember at Llandarcy this week as the Ospreys returned for pre-season training, in one case there was a familiar face with an unfamiliar name.

For Lloyd Peers, currently rehabbing his way back to fitness following surgery on a pectoral injury sustained in the Judgement Day win over the Blues, it has been a summer of change.

Earlier this month he married his fiancée Febe on the Greek island of Santorini since when, along with his wife, they have legally become Mr and Mrs Ashley.

“We both had the same middle name, which was Ashley, so we have decided to use that as our married name, rather than one of us taking the other’s surname. By the time I returned for pre-season, I had become Lloyd Ashley” he explained.

Having suffered his fair share of injury problems over the last 18 months, the second row is keeping a everything crossed for a clean bill of health this season, joking:

“Hopefully, I can leave the injuries behind with Lloyd Peers, and Lloyd Ashley can have a good run of games without any problems”!
