Ospreys East Development team victorious

The Under 16's development team from the East won early bragging rights as they beat the West side 34 - 0 last night at Llandarcy

It was something of a one sided affair as the Ospreys Under16's development sides met last night at Llandarcy. It was the first game of the season for both teams and despite some good individual performances on both sides, it was the team from the east of Ospreylia that worked together to get the win.

Captain Joe Williams got the scoring underway with a try and with conversions being worth more points in this competition, Sam Evans added another 3 points with his successful kick. Josh Jaikes soon crossed over for the Under 16's East Development team's 2nd try of the evening. Dominic Giraud then made his way over for try number three, and Sam Evans added his second successful penalty kick. Before half time, there was just time for Ryan Morrin to score the East's fourth try of the game. With the conversion kick failing to hit it's mark the game went into half time:

The second half saw an improved defensive effort from the West side and aided by the East team being a man down after Sam Waters was yellow carded, they kept out the majority of home teams attacks. However the East Development side did manage to have the last say in the game as replacement Jordan Walters crashed over for the final try of the evening, before Ben Lacey converted his efforts.
