Ozzie’s Army soars past 2000 members

Ozzie’s Army is celebrating a significant landmark after the 2000th member signed up for duty.

Five year-old Rhydian from Merthyr Tydfil was the young fan whose membership took numbers through the significant barrier after he was signed up online, taking numbers to an all-time record high.

To mark the occasion, Ozzie arranged for Sam Davies to sign a picture of him in action and post it to Rhydian as a special thank you. Sam said:

“It’s important to us as players to see how Ozzie’s Army is growing with more and more young supporters signing up. It does get said a lot but it is absolutely true, these children are the future of this region and we want to do all we can to ensure they become lifelong Ospreys fans.

“Hopefully, we’ll get to meet Rhydian and the other members regularly at the Liberty Stadium this season, starting with the big derby match against the Blues next weekend. That should be a cracker of a match and we are really looking forward to seeing a big crowd.

Membership of Ozzie’s Army is completely free, and is open to all boys and girls from across the region and beyond, who are between the ages of five and 12. All members enjoy rewards that bring them closer to the team, including an invitation to an exclusive annual members party attended by the entire Ospreys playing squad.

Members also receive a signed birthday card from an Ospreys player, 10% off in the club shop, a quarterly newsletter and entry into the match day mascot draw which guarantees a member of Ozzie’s Army will lead the Ospreys out at every home game.

Ozzie is now looking forward to the next milestone of 3000 members and can’t wait to see as many members as possible in the O-Zone before every home game. The O-Zone, located in the South Stand, is filled with fun and games for all members to enjoy whilst also meeting non-playing members of the Ospreys squad who also come down to enjoy the pre-match activities.

If you or your children haven’t signed up yet, make sure you do so now; you can download the application form or fill out your details online here.
