Most ‘Ospreylian’ streets recognised

The Ospreys have used a personal touch to get fans excited for the new season by hand-delivering season membership cards to the regions’ most ‘Ospreylian’ streets.

Ticketing staff delved into their membership database to identify the most ‘Ospreylian’ streets across the region – those who have purchased the most number of season tickets.

Yesterday, Tom Habberfield, Rhys Webb, Lloyd Peers, Sam Davies, Eli Walker, Scott Otten, Dan Suter, Hanno Dirksen and Dmitri Arhip knocked on doors on Pastoral Way in Sketty, Swansea, Taillwyd Road in Neath Abbey, Neath Port Talbot and Tremains Court in Bridgend to surprise their loyal supporters and personally deliver their tickets.  Between the three streets alone, supporters purchased a combined total of 32 season tickets.

Once residents overcame their initial shock, the players were greeted with big smiles and posed for photographs with fans.

Catherine Lloyd of Pastoral Way in Sketty said: “We have been Ospreys season ticket holders since the start and it’s been a real surprise to have the boys turn up on our doorstep to deliver our tickets.  We wish them all the best for the next season.”

Andrew Hore, Ospreys Chief Executive said:

“We wanted to take a personal approach to our season ticket delivery and decided to deliver the tickets to the most Ospreylian streets in the region, by hand.  As a club, we feel it’s important to thank our fans for their fantastic support.  It’s great to see such a positive reaction to our players and we look forward to welcoming our season ticket holder to the Liberty Stadium for our upcoming season. Its true that teams win matches, but supporters win championships. We have the best supporters out there who have backed the cause through thick and thin, and we sincerely thank them for their on-going support.”
