Ospreys Get Their Hands Dirty At Resolven RFC

Ospreys players helped out at a community day at Resolven RFC on Saturday, putting their painting skills to good use to decorate the changing rooms, helping to launch a summer of community service.

The Ospreys had put the call out to all rugby clubs in the Ospreylia region to offer their services as part of a summer-long community outreach programme, offering to help with a range of projects from painting and cleaning through to gardening and odd jobs. So far a number of clubs have taken the Ospreys up on their offer with many players volunteering their time to get involved.

Lyn Rodderick, Secretary of Resolven RFC, comments: “We were keen to take the Ospreys up on their offer of help this summer as we were looking to finish some jobs before the start of next season. It’s been a pleasure having the boys here to help with painting and to meet with some of our junior team players who really look up to them.”

Cai Griffiths, Mathew Jenkins and Dmitri Arhip were joined by Team Logistics Manager, Dai Davies, as they took their turn at painting Resolven RFC and joined in with the community fun day.

Andrew Hore, Ospreys Chief Executive, added:

“Being part of the wider Ospreylian community means a great deal to us and we’re delighted that so many clubs have taken us up on our offer of support over the summer. We recognise that our players of tomorrow are being nurtured in the region’s clubs and we want to build upon and maintain strong links with them. Giving back our time and energy in this way to ensure that the region’s rugby clubs are ready for the start of the new season is the least we can do.”

If any rugby clubs within the Ospreylia region would like to call on the Ospreys for some support in competing unfinished projects they can contact Nick Lockley by emailing nick.lockley@ospreysrugby.com
