YGG Castell-nedd win Clarity League

The Neath Primary School took the honours in the first year of the Clarity League.

Launched ahead of the 2013/14 season, it is a contact league for schools in the Neath area, set up to enable competitive and meaningful games for the primary school pupils.

Seven schools from Neath; YGG Castell-nedd, YGG Tyle'r Ynn and Cwmnedd, Creunant, Cilffriw, Blaengwrach and Gnoll Primary Schools have been taking part in the league, and it was Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg  Castell-nedd who will go down in history as its first ever winners.

The school is becoming well known for its rugby, having also won the Welsh Schools Rugby Union competition earlier this season at the Millennium Stadium and the hard working staff and pupils were delighted to have now also received their Clarity League trophy.

Liam Evans,WRU Participation Officer for Neath Port Talbot commented on the league:

"The Clarity League has been absolutely fantastic this year. It's been great to be able to provide the seven schools with a competitive league so that they have an actual competition and meaningful games to participate in. The schools have all faced each other throughout the season and there's been some exciting games to watch across the league.

“Congratulations go to Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Castell-nedd on being its first ever winners. The team have been great all season and have really put their all into the games, displaying some fantastic teamwork. There's certainly some possible future Ospreys on the team!"

The hard working players haven't been resting on their laurels though, as this week they did the double and also won the Clarity Cup, with Cilffriw Primary School taking home the Clarity Shield.
