"We fell short”

By Ospreys Rugby | 06/10/2013

Skipper Alun Wyn Jones frustrated as Ospreys lose unbeaten record.

Speaking after Friday night’s defeat at the hands of Ulster, Ospreys skipper Alun Wyn Jones couldn’t hide his disappointment.

It was the first loss of the season for the Ospreys and Jones acknowledged that his charges had failed to deliver in front of the biggest regional rugby crowd in Wales so far in 2013/14.

“We’re pretty disappointed on the whole” he said.

“In the first half we defended really well, we were probably too comfortable defending and didn’t get much attack going.

“We had a dream start to the second half with two quick penalties but then allowed them to come back into it and get the end result.

“It felt that the penalty count was going against us but we’ll have to review it and see what we did right and wrong. I can’t say immediately after the game but we’ll probably have to look at the set piece. It didn’t function but we still had a lot of possession so we’ll have to look at it.

“We bitterly disappointed that all these people came here tonight and we didn’t get the win. There’s no doubt about it, we fell short tonight.”
