By Ospreys Rugby | 02/08/2013

Wales’ largest selling newspaper, the South Wales Evening Post, has been confirmed as official media partner of the Ospreys for the new season

Wales’ largest selling newspaper, the South Wales Evening Post, has been confirmed as official media partner of the Ospreys for the new season and will again feature on the playing jersey, due to be revealed later today.

It is the second year that the Post’s logo has featured on the shirt, and the third consecutive season that the paper has enjoyed official media partner status.

South Wales Evening Post Editor, Jonathan Roberts, said:

“The South Wales Evening Post is delighted to continue our long association with the Ospreys. Like its local newspaper, the Ospreys are right at the heart of life in the Swansea Bay area.

“The Post was privileged to host the region’s end of season awards dinner earlier this year, and will do so again next season.

“The Ospreys are so much more than a sports organisation and its contribution to the wider community is enormous, helping to enhance Swansea’s growing reputation as a city of sporting and cultural excellence on the world stage.

“The Post is proud to be ‘taking the field’ with the players this season, and will continue to provide supporters with breaking news, match reports and in-depth analysis pre, post and during the campaign ahead, both inside Wales’ biggest-selling daily newspaper, the South Wales Evening Post, and on our new-look website,"

Yarnie Guthrie, Ospreys Commercial Manager, added:

“To have the continued support of Wales’ biggest selling newspaper gives us a huge boost ahead of the new season.

“The South Wales Evening Post is a perfect example of all that is good about local newspapers and, just like the Ospreys, takes enormous pride in representing its local community. We both share the outlook that working together with other key local businesses will enable us to deliver even greater benefits to the community.

“Of course, with more people reading the Evening Post than any other newspaper in Wales, this ongoing partnership will put us even more firmly at the heart of the region while enabling our message to reach even more people.

“We also look forward to working with them to enable our 77 clubs and the schools across the region to get more of their important community sports news out to a wider audience, bringing even greater value to the relationships we have with all parties.”

With average daily sales of 34,873, and a readership of 115,168, the South Wales Evening Post remains the biggest selling Welsh newspaper.

The new Ospreys 2013/14 home jersey is being unveiled online at and at 6pm today, when it will be available to buy online via

It will then be available instore from 9am on Saturday, with a family fun day at the new-look Ospreys Club Shop, with player appearances between 11am and 1pm.
