Ospreys Captain Barry Williams and Wales International front row forward Paul James to undergo back surgery

The Ospreys today reported that Ospreys Captain Barry Williams and prop Paul James will be sidelined for three to four months with disc injuries

After seeking advice from medical specialists the assessments have concluded that the only option is for the players to undergo corrective surgery

It is hoped that both players will play some part in our end of season fixtures

Comment from Derwyn Jones:

“It is disappointing that both players require corrective surgery as this now takes the number of Ospreys who have had surgery this season to ten.  This has put a huge strain on the squad but it is now down to the remaining boys to show the type of positive attitude we expect from Osprey players. We need to secure as many wins as possible over the remaining fixtures and although it will be a great test of character I am sure we will come through with the right string of results”
